Palace of Versailles, France
The Palace of Versailles has been the most decadent residence I have ever seen. If I had endless amounts of time I would spend days walking the gardens and hours upon hours in the rooms examining the details of the fabric or the strokes of the portraits.
While walking the Hall of Mirrors I tried to imagine what those who were able to walk through might have felt. To wear expensive clothes, have an aristocrat on your arm and then glance to your left; how regal it all must have felt.
There are thousands of opportunities for pictures at the Chateau but I have chosen to show only one. To me it represents both it's humble beginnings (a simple set of doors) but also a way to keep out those who are not welcome to such wealth.
